The Gentlewoman seems to be feeling very gentle man ly in their Autumn/Winter issue: the boy-meets girl styling (baggy pants, oversized everything) of the magazine’s shoot with Yasmin Le Bon (“Terribly nice jumpers with Yasmin Le Bon”) [1,2,3] and Malgosia Bela (“The Bigger The Better”) [4] is a feat of attractive, clean silhouettes and minimal hair that lets the duo's faces (and what faces) stand out.

Le Bon is sporting the haircut we heard so much about circa the chop-heard-round-the-world (Daria, Miley Cyrus, Olivier, our own Emily), and according to the mag, it was shorn especially for this shoot by Luke Hersheson. We’ve always been big proponents of balance—remember what Paul Hanlon said backstage at Altuzarra: “There’s a lot going on with the clothes...so I liked the idea of a very small head.” So, if the clothes are loose and oversized, keep everything else tight, close, and simple. That, and there’s something about the confidence of a sleek and strong Helmut Newton-esque girl that we still can’t get enough of.

To get the look? Make like Paul: prep the hair with Fekkai's Full Volume Mousse before taking the Sheer Hold Hairspray section by section through the hair, keeping it tight and flat to the nape of the neck before blasting it with some of Redken's insta-glistener, Shine Flash 02. And then? Go forth and be sleek!
