Lately, cosmetics companies have been all about the liquid lipstick (while last year, it seemed everyone and their mother was coming out with a sheer gloss/lipstick hybrid in a classic roll-up tube). Hourglass’ Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick just crossed our desks...and therefore our mouths, right after lunch...and stood out amongst the crowd for its insanely long wear time (the brand says 14 hours; we're inclined to agree), clutch-friendly, smushed-bullet-like packaging, and matte, 'dried paint' finish. It comes in a few straightforward shades , like Icon, a dark cherry, and Raven, an attractive tomato , and settles into your mouth like a good stain should. It also doesn’t come off on anything (if this was a commercial, we'd be smooching a good-looking guy in a trench coat and laughing coquettishly in the movie-rain right about now. Maybe with a wink thrown in, for good measure.) Watch out, Ruby Woo— there’s a new red in town.
