Just yesterday, Taylor Swift released the title and cover of her fourth album, Red, as well as the first track, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” (stupid name, crazy catchy song) via a webcast from Nashville, TN. While Swift has historically found herself in all sorts of twee scenarios (frolicking in a field in a princess gown, in her bedroom wearing t-shirts and shorts, in the crowd at high-school sporting events) in her imagery and music videos, the Red cover focuses on her pensive profile. Girlfriend is growing up—but still writing zingers about her exes. In line with the album title, she has a serious crimson lip (a CoverGirl tie-in, perhaps?), a contrast-trim blouse, and Ray-Bans: cool, understated... and dare we say elegant? But, lest anyone think she's strayed too far from her twangy girly-girl roots, she's still posing in a field.
