Karl's One Love - Into The Gloss

Karl’s One Love

As of 9 AM this morning, there was a sole mannequin in the window of Chanel on Madison Avenue whose hairstyle might make the neighborhood's ladies-who-lunch do a double-take. Remember the house's pre-fall "Paris-Bombay"-themed collection, or, more specifically, the genius Sam McKnight-crafted, Medusa-meets-Marley oversized updos Aymeline, Daphne, Lindsey, and Stella worked in the show? Evidently, they're having a runway-to-reality moment. Maybe the uptown set will be rocking 'em by Labor Day... WHO KNOWS ANYMORE?!

Would I be too bold to say that mannequin looks a bit like Lou Doillon? I love the red lips, classically French, classically feminine.

Hahaha, I had precisely the same thought! Kind of a creepy Lou Doillon for sure.

Mannequins can be so creepy. This one in no exception. =)

I saw that yesterday! I went on a stroll up Madison for the first time and that was deff one of the more eye catching parts of the trip. That and the Tom Ford store and the sandwhich I ate at the lovely Nectar. I'd die if I ran into you Emily!

I always wonder if Chanel is being ironic with the awful 1980's style mannequins they use in their windows.

Dearest ITG Reader,

We're working on something new called Glossier. It's launching soon(!) and we want you to be the first to know updates.

xo, Emily
