Magic Bun

"Did you know there's not even a hair tie in there? It's magic. I just lift it into a high ponytail, twist the ponytail pretty tight, and wrap it around itself, and then at the end, I pull the tail through the bun. It's just because my hair's so disgustingly long. I need a haircut!"  —Emerald Carroll, spotted over the weekend.

    No hair tie? Now THAT is talent. I can't imagine getting my hair to stay put in such a high, heavy bun without a tie. I'm seriously impressed!

    That's exactly how I put my hair in a bun! My mom taught me a few years ago, since she also has really long hair. It's actually not that hard. Just practice!

    This is EXACTLY how I do mine! I haven't cut my hair in a year (wasn't sure what to do with it) and now it is so long, and healthy that I don't want to touch it - not even for a trim!

    If I do this when my otherwise straight hair is wet, I end up with the most amazing soft curls when it's dry. No brushing, just Oscar Blandi and a towel dry, and up it goes. I just can't seem to figure out how to keep the curls for more than a few hours unless I keep putting them up for regular re-scrunching - no product yet has worked.... :-(
