I'm so glad for this post...I LOVE candles. Can I tell you the best one I ever had? Diptyque Essence of John Galliano. Not exactly the PC choice these days (I'm sure it hasn't been sold for years), but sort of smokey leather rose...divine. Always good, and seasonless: Archipelago Botanicals Currant or Pomegranate Citrus.

I'm also obsessed with candles, especially in the fall/winter! They just seem to make my room much more cozy. My personal favorite is Diptyque but I will have to try some of the others out.

Great scents recommendation
When I was pregnant with my first child,I tried to find the safest scent for everyday burning and came across this seller I got the link from a friend. Its from an upcoming asian designer
I thought $3 for a votive is so cheap (15hours burning time),the scents are heavenly,and they use pure soywax so its safe even for toddlers. Not to mention they ship worldwide so cheap and I receive the candles in a week. I think their scents are even more long-lasting than diptyque's...like I burn it for half an hour and the smell will stay overnight.

Diptyque is always the best to impress for gifts,and I recently try Voluspa and Jo Malone..
But I thought the packaging is what makes them so appealing im a sucker of fancy packaging!

A question,is it true that every girl brings a tin of candle into their hotelroom during fashion week?just curious...

My favorite is the limited-edition candle from the Monocle store in the West Village. It's just woodsy and earthy and sexy and...yum! If you could translate a boy-meets-girl aesthetic into beeswax, this would be the result. It really smells delicious and a little bit decadent.
