Lily & Ruby Aldridge

Ruby [right]: I never really had a beauty routine before—I was using all different face washes and didn’t have a set regime, but I just went to Mario Badescu and got a facial for the first time, and it was amazing, so since then I’ve been using their products every morning. A face wash, toner, and a moisturizer with SPF—I wasn’t using any sunscreen—and it’s made such a difference in my skin. I even took my boyfriend there! [Laughs] We went crazy and bought so much stuff. I just had stuff I couldn’t get rid of, and they did such a good job. I don’t really carry anything around…I’d like to think I always have a brush with me, but I don’t really do that. [Laughs] I always have lip balm; that’s my one thing, I guess.

Lily: I just gave you that Fresh lip balm.

Ruby: Oh yeah!

Lily: Those are so good—I literally just bought five of them; there are tons in my bag. They come in all different colors and I use all of them. I like Fresh’s candles and body polish too, and I love bath salts—EO bath salts. I’ve been using Mario Badescu face lotion since I was sixteen. It’s perfect. And I love my Clarisonic—it’s amazing, it just gets all the gunk off. Especially for models, you have so much makeup on all the time, so as soon as I get home I’m scrubbing it all off! But it’s really soft—you just wet it or put a cleanser on it—I like Cetaphil because it’s so gentle. When I’m not working I’ll wear some NARS Laguna bronzer, and I use highlighters a lot. Rose-Marie Swift has this natural one called Living Luminizer and it’s amazing, it gives your skin a really nice glow. Anything really simple and natural I like. I have wavy hair but I’ll curl it every three or four days with a 1 ½” curling iron, and pull it out with a tong. Oribe has an amazing Dry Texturizing Spray I use. And I go to Tracey Cunnigham in LA; she’s the best colorist in the world, I think.

    They're both so naturally beautiful!

I agree with Lily about the Clarisonic - I've had mine since 2009 - and I use it every night. Regular face brushes do not compare - they don't get all the make-up off like the Clarisonic can.

I really want to try the Fresh lipbalms now - I'm always on the lookout for good lip products.

they're both so gorgeous ! and i'm glad to see an east-european name in an amazing face care brand ! (mario b.)

I'm curious if anyone has an opinion on the Clarisonic face brush vs. the far less expensive Olay version. I really love my Olay but wonder if i should upgrade? Has anyone tried both?

    • Kendra

I have tried both, the clarisonic and the Olay version. I have been using the Clarisonic for 6 years and love it, but I think they both do really well at getting the job done. I use mine with the Peter Thomas Roth microspherical scrub, my skin feels like it had a microderm.

This makes me want to be more diligent with my Clarisonic, I always forget to use it! Not tonight though...

  • Alex

a Top Shelf from Lily, with the full lo-down on that perfect wavy hair technique would be amazing please & thanks!

  • Bre

Such beautiful pictures of two incredibly gorgeous women! I love that their routines are pared down and simple and they both favor natural products. Fresh products are among some of my favorites, their lip treatments are so fabulous! I love all the shades they come out with, perfect for on the go beauty and those who prefer a no makeup makeup look. I had long suspected that Lily's gorgeous hair was Tracey's handiwork, thanks for confirming my suspicions!

  • Kendra

I love my clarisonic, it does a great job of getting my makeup off. But Cetaphil? Why does it have to be such a staple cleanser, I don't think it works well at all. Just my opinion though.

  • Alexis

Ugh, I really need that Clarisonic. I can't wait for that Sephora Friends/Family sale - I will be purchasing this time around. I doubt it'll give me Lily's complexion but every bit helps!

    Am I psychic or what???

Hey ladies, any of you looking for a reading? I'll tell the brand and color lipstick/gloss you'll be wearing when you meet your prince charming.

I love models so thanks so much for this. I think that because models come across so many different products, they can give great advice.

Oh I just adore models anyway.

I've been using the Fresh Brown Sugar body scrub for years, it's great for mid winter scaly skin. It's so moisturizing that you don't need to apply body lotion afterwards.

These girls are beautiful. They're skin is perfect too. I'm still trying to find the perfect face wash for my type of skin - it's very hard to find the right one!

They are beautiful. I love their relaxed routine. Could you do a top shelf (or other feature) on Rose-Marie Swift sometime? I keep hearing about her products, and I looked into her and she has a really interesting story.

  • jenny

Which Mario Badescu lotion does Lily use?

  • Maggie

Love MB. They have an online survey you can fill out to figure out the best products for your skin and then they send you a pile of samples. And then, they get you hooked. I was always bouncing around from product to product and now my skin has never looked better.

  • Hanna

Fantastic! Love both - a wonderful article!
