It's simple--put your money where your mouth is!

There’s a negligible amount of anything natural about brands such as Shiseido, Guerlain, MAC, and Nars. I too believe one shouldn't have to spend a fortune for quality beauty products, however, I also strongly believe buying products such as Olay defeats the point of the natural products she purports to favor. Olay is manufactured by Proctor & Gamble, a company that insists on continuing archaic animal testing into the 21st century. Animals are a part of nature. I don't understand why so many who claim to be health-conscious/nature-lovers continue to buy and endorse such brands. She's wary of expensive beauty products; I'm wary of a person who professes to care about what she puts onto and into her body and claims to be "homespun" and "natural" while also accepting monetary gain from a big-name beauty brand that packs toxic ingredients into their products. There's clearly quite a contradiction, but I realize people often are just that. Perhaps going green and claiming to be all-natural have been so overused that even otherwise intelligent people have completely lost the ability to comprehend what the concepts truly mean? I’m sick to death of the deceptive beauty brands who slap "natural" or "organic" all over their labels when often the only organic or natural ingredient contained within is actually a known skin irritant. I'm also beginning to wonder how many of the particular products/brands mentioned by those featured on this blog are in actuality done so by individuals who are compensated for their lip service.

I enjoy reading the entries which feature those who appear to be honestly discussing the products that they find work for them, though I ‘m not convinced that’s always the motive of those featured on this blog. If I’m interested in a product mentioned here I check it out thoroughly before purchasing. As others have mentioned, the online cosmetic databases are very helpful in sorting out what each ingredient really is, and allows each of us to make more informed choices for ourselves rather than just blindly accepting the recommendation of others (who might not really know what on earth they're talking about or are possibly sometimes paid to do so).
