Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid

Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15

Sometimes, you get a sample of something, somewhere—and you have no idea what it is. This happens a lot with French products, unless you happen to read French. I do not. Does that stop me? Mais non, and I’ve had my fair share of nasty skin reactions to prove it. From time to time, though, I discover a gem like Caudalie’s new Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid SPF 15.

I received the tube last week (accompanied by a much-needed travel size bottle of their Beauty Elixir, a must-have product) and used it as a moisturizer one morning. When I came home hours later and glanced in the mirror, I stopped in my tracks: “Whoa…did I put on makeup this morning?” Nope. “Why does my skin look so good?” Positive ID on the Caudalie—it had literally Perfected my Day.

Five days in and I’m kind of obsessed with this…moisturizer? Primer? Sunscreen? Further investigation confirmed that the feather-light formula actually does it all…and not just superficially: at its core is Caudalie’s patented Viniferine complex, a concentrate drawn from grape vines that lightens dark spots and boosts radiance. But the immediate effect is that of a transparent foundation, thanks to a trio of optical smoothing agents. My next-to-naked August routine has found its hero product.

I just bought the Elixir a few weeks ago and it's sitting in my black Sephora bag at home. What am I waiting for to use it, not sure, but I will become a spritzer because everything else I have purchased due to the valuable information in this blog has changed my skincare routine. Do I need this now too next to my new favorite Embryolisse? : )

    Hi Emily,
Could you tell me if the vinoperfect fluid has the same scent as the Beauty Elixir (which I'm addicted to, thanks to you)?

  • Alyssa

yay, a naturalish product! tres excellente.

  • Nathalie

Great product! I've been using it every day with the night cell renewal fluid since 3 weeks. My skin is much clearer and brighter, almost my breakouts have disappeared. I'm found of Caudalie (not because I'm French!). Natural but efficient products.

I literally had almost the same experience last week with this product!! I got a sample from Sephora and decided to give it a go one day before walking my dog. Just slathered it on really quickly and walked out the door. A few hours later, I looked in the mirror and was like " skin looks fabulous!". It makes your skin sooo velvety that it's almost powdery but not...a very natural looking and feeling matte finish with the subtlest of skin tone evening. This is amazing. Wish it weren't $68 for 1 oz. but hey..sometimes you have to pay that extra bit for amazing looking skin. On a side note, Caudalie's Vinoperfect Radiance serum is a dream. It literally changed my skin from dull, scarred from a years long battle with acne in my teens, and uneven to smooth, glowing, flawless baby-skin. Check it out if you haven't already!!!

Oh, and to Lucky D: no, it does not have the same smell as the Beauty Elixer (I use a lot of Caudalie products). It has a very light, slightly sweet, almost citrus-y grape scent. Very lovely!

  • Gina

I tried a sample of this a few weeks ago, courtesy of Sephora's 100-Point Perks. I was mightily impressed, however, a mere 15 SPF has me searching for a "better" option. Next up, I'm sampling the BB creams by Boscia and Clinique.

@LuckyD -- the scent of this product is not the same as the Beauty Elixir. It's more sweet than herbal, but there's almost no scent at all. And I say this as someone who loathes scented products.

This moisturizer is one of those that makes all other steps useless. The first few times I wore this alone on my skin, I had the same glowing and perfect skin. Like someone photoshopped me and I wasn't oily one bit at the end of the day. It smells great and it has sunprotection! I really should buy this again cause it's a staple and shows why French skincare is usually the best there is for anything!

  • Marcela

I want to try it too, God knows, my skin is in desperate need of something like this.

  • Alexis

Oooh I need to try this. However, I have finished testing some Clarins and other samples I received to review from a dermatologist. I should give my skin a break but I'm still out there trying to find my HG moisturizer that won't make my eczema skin freak out!

  • David

Definitely have to try it out! :D

    Have a Good Day!

  • Lindsay Sue

I suspect that this is best as a day cream? I can't wait to try it out!

  • Gaelle

I didn't try this but if you need some help with French products, let me know!

  • Delvaux

I use Caudalie and since I live in Europe I had no idea that you can buy this brand everywhere.. I love Caudalie as well... whenever you are in France you should try their amazing spa's!

  • elena

Sounds great, but only 15 SPF... That's a shame.

    • Hunter

@elena @Gina It says SPF 15 on the bottle but that is the French SPF rating which is a different system with different standards, it’s actually a US SPF 30. So don’t let that discourage you from getting it, it’s amazing! Pricey but worth it to be certain.

      • Gina

@Hunter, thank you for the SPF information. The product does such amazing things to my skin that I'd considered layering it over a higher SPF, but now it seems that I don't have to do that.

        • Laura

@hunter@gina. I have never heard that a eu SPF 15 is us SPF 30. Are you quite sure about this?

  • Renee

I've been really eager to try a whole host of Caudalie products, including the much touted Beauty Elixir (that everyone's mentioning here too).

But then I read a review on the Beauty Elixir at courtesy of Paula Begoun and now I am not so sure about it...

    Any thoughts?

    • Laura

@ Renee. I know what you mean. I think paula gives great insight into skincare but she assesses all products according to her own philosophy. E.g. There's no conclusive proof parabens are bad (although certain research suggests it) ergo she recommends them. Equally there's no proof that a certain natural substance is doing anything ergo she says it's not recommended. Having some background in science i know there is often conflicting research on certain ingredients but I often find she chooses the one that suits her. So i guess the best thing is to try things out to see whether you like it. Hope that helps.

Funny! I received the same care package and planned on reviewing it too! You beat me to it : )

  • Priscilla Francine Makeup

I am currently using this too! I love the elixir hmmm smells yummy and feels so refreshing!

  • The Blossom Shed

They changed this formulation just this year - I loved the older day cream, so I hope I'll love this one too - by the sounds of your review, I will:)

Their whole Vinoperfect line is incredible. Pricey, but you get results, and natural!

I would love if you'd follow my new beauty blog, The Blossom Shed!

  • anita

I love this stuff! I've been using it on a daily basis and have not been able to put it down! Caudalie is one of the best skincare brands out there!

Great product indeed! I love the whole vinoperfect range and several other products from this brand. They are gentle and very effective. My acne scarring on my cheeks just disappeared after start using the vinoperfect range. And somehow the compexion serum kind of keep my white(mostly on my cheeks) and black heads at bay. Just brilliant stuff.
