Almay Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks

Almay Oil-Free Makeup Eraser Sticks

We’ve always known that cotton swabs are handy for all sorts of grooming dilemmas, but cotton swabs filled with a soothing cucumber-aloe-green tea potion that saturates the tip with a snap of your fingers? Sign me up. In fact, I’ve been carting around a case of these for a month (they hit shelves sometime this week), never mind that there’s hardly room in my purse for a wallet, let alone much else. Because no matter what I do, no matter the mascara du jour, there will be a faint black smudge underneath the outer corners of my eyes within hours of application. And then I’m tugging at the skin with dry tissue, my fingers—whatever’s within arm’s reach. Forgive the dramatics, but these sticks are a godsend. You simply break off the marked end, which releases the fluid into the other end…preferably in front of at least one other person, just to see the perplexed look on their face. Errant eyeliner, running mascara, and eye shadow creases don’t stand a chance. I had to edit down the contents of an evening clutch recently, for a humid outdoor party, and guess what made the cut? A credit card, $20, my keys, lipstick, and three of these. The best news yet? They’re $5.50 a pop. Meet your new summer staple.

Wow, this is news to me! I've been using the 'ole standby' still! I feel like a moron, haha. I'll totally get these and I think my boyfriend might appreciate me not stealing all of his cotton swabs.

  • Jessica

I've used these for years by a brand that Ulta carries- so nice to know I'll be able to try these without having to drive too far!

  • Christine

Sephora also sells a Bare Escentuals version that I can't live without!

    • LuckyD

The Bare Escentuals "i.d. on the spot" are my life saver in the summer!
Great to hear that Almay has them now too. Both of these companies do NOT perform animal testing and I'm more than happy to support them!!

  • Alex

SpaceNK carried a version of these years ago and then they disappeared... Great that they are making a collective comeback. Useful and there's something very satisfying about that little snap!

  • Adrienne

I'm so excited to buy these! I've been soaking swabs in makeup remover and putting them in a plastic pouch in my purses whenever I go out at night. Tiresome, time-consuming, and not always effective either! Thank you for this post.

  • Kat

So perfect for humid weather! I'll definitely take these on vacation to erase any mascara smudges, which will most certainly happen.

  • Madame M

    Great invention!

  • Priscilla Francine Makeup

  • Ashley

Wow, I can't believe I'm just discovering these now! This is a necessity for every make-up bag!
