Make Up For Ever HD Powder

Last weekend, I had a glamour party at my house—totally by accident. My friends came over one day to catch up on American Idol, and by the end of the hang, I’d given three mini-facials and makeup tutorials. After all, they want to know about all the goodies I’m testing—what works and what doesn't. And even if I don’t have all the answers (let’s not kid ourselves), I can do their makeup, ITG-style.

There are a handful of products that I use across the board, from models to friends to myself, and one of my favorites is Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder. This is not your average loose powder. It’s one-shade-fits-all: white in the jar, 100% sheer on the skin. Truly—I’ve used this on the full spectrum of skin tones. Now, why use a loose powder, anyway? In the past I’ve found them too mattifying, and my favorite— favorite—thing is a nice, radiant sheen to the face. But, to keep sheen from crossing over into shine territory, you need a little something something. That something is this powder. I dust it all over a freshly moisturized and made up face with a big fluffy brush, and, as Steven Tyler effused on one episode of AI, “That's the goop that great stuff is made from.”
