Love Amy Sall's look, especially those eyes! Seriously gorgeous. My unsolicited two cents re: her haircare routine: I have chemically straightened hair and I wash my hair as often as I like with absolutely no ill effects, often with the frequency of every 2 to 3 days. I just have to say that the wash isn't your enemy, its the TYPE of shampoo / conditioner you use that will dry your hair out. Please look into organic, sulfate free options, like Giovanni, my personal favorite. A clean scalp especially with all those hard workouts is something you don't have to sacrifice in the name of great hair.

i agree. not all aa or a's have chemically relaxed hair. i don't for example. love your posts but must clarify that her hair appears chemically relaxed and therefore likely subject to easy breakage. (like blonde charlotte free when she mentioned that due to processing her hair was 'fried'). hair, african or otherwise, in it's natural state, is not going to 'fall out' from daily washing.

Great post! I'm AA and I wear a relaxer as well. Her comment about not washing her hair everyday isn't true of all relaxed hair. I tend to wash mines every other day in the summer and my hair is very healthy. All AA hair isn't the same, but she does have beautiful skin and I am following her workout regime. Beautiful lady! I'm a makeup artist and I LOVE THIS BLOG!

What a beautiful woman! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the diversity. I love it! Bookmarking your site now.
(BTW: I, too, have chemically relaxed hair and shampoo it 1x/week. Anything else is absolutely too drying.)
